9:00 AM • Embark on a full-day city tour that will take you through the rich history and culture of Brunei. Our first stop is the Lapau, a royal ceremonial hall where HM The Sultan was crowned as the 29th Sultan of Brunei. The hall’s architectural design showcases the country’s heritage, adorned with traditional Brunei woven motives. Next to the Lapau is the old parliament house, Dewan Majlis, which boasts intricate Brunei cultural elements. We will then make a brief stop at the Tamu Kianggeh, a local traditional market situated on the banks of Kianggeh River. This market holds historical significance, as it was visited by HM Queen Elizabeth II during her state visit in 1998. Continuing on, we’ll visit The Malay Technology Museum, a gift from Royal Dutch Shell to Brunei during its independence in 1984. Explore the museum to learn about ancient boatmaking, metalworking, and goldsmithing techniques.
Our tour will proceed to the Tomb of Sultan Bolkiah, the 5th Sultan of Brunei, who presided over the Golden Age of Brunei. Marvel at the Royal Regalia Museum, which houses the regalia of the Sultan and the royal family. The museum also showcases the celebrations of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah’s Silver and Golden Jubilees. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the magnificent Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, considered the most stunning mosque in Asia. It is named after the current ruler’s father and features breathtaking Islamic architecture with a blend of local influences.
After enjoying a scrumptious lunch at a local restaurant, join your knowledgeable local guide to explore Kampong Ayer, also known as the “Venice of the East.” This extensive water village is one of the largest in Southeast Asia. Hop aboard a scenic boat ride, experiencing the beauty of the Brunei River by “water taxi.” Take a leisurely walk along wooden paths and bridges, immersing yourself in Brunei’s culture and history. To complete this authentic experience, visit a local house where you will be treated to traditional cakes and tea.
Our tour continues with a visit to the majestic Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque*. Admire the 29 golden domes that symbolize the 29th ruler of Brunei. This architectural masterpiece blends modern Islamic design with Middle Eastern influences and local accents. Lastly, we will drive to Nurul Iman Palace, the official residence of The Sultan of Brunei, which holds the Guinness World Record as the largest living residence of a head of state. Capture memorable photos at the palace’s impressive front gate.
Note*: On Thursdays, Fridays, and during religious festivals, non-Muslims are not permitted to enter the mosques. However, our tour will cover the garden area and compound of the two mosques on these days.

Non-muslims are not allowed to enter the mosques on Thursday and Friday and during religious festivals and the tour will cover the garden area and compound of the two mosques only on these days.
