Join our local guide for an exploration of Brunei’s iconic sites. We’ll begin with the impressive Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah mosque, completed in 1994 to honour the monarch’s 25th year on the throne, featuring 29 golden domes. Next, we’ll visit the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, known for its majestic golden dome and marble walls, considered one of Asia’s most magnificent mosques.
The tour also includes a visit to the Malay Technology Museum, a gift from Royal Dutch Shell during Brunei’s independence in 1984, showcasing ancient boatmaking, metalworking, and goldsmithing techniques. At the Royal Regalia Museum, you’ll see the Sultan’s regalia and exhibits celebrating Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah’s Silver and Golden Jubilee celebrations.
Explore the fascinating Kampong Ayer, often called the “Venice of the East,” which is one of Southeast Asia’s largest water villages. Enjoy a scenic boat ride on the Brunei River via a “water taxi” and take a walk on wooden paths, immersing yourself in Brunei’s rich culture and history. Finally, experience traditional Bruneian hospitality by visiting a local house where you’ll be served traditional cakes and tea.
The tour will conclude with a visit to Nurul Iman Palace, the official residence of the Sultan of Brunei, and an opportunity for photos at the palace’s front gate.
